This Proof of Concept explores SOP-based fiber sensing as a non-intrusive method to identify Shared Risk Link Groups (SRLGs) by detecting correlated polarization changes. Using existing coherent transponders, it enables real-time hardware tagging of fibers, enhancing network resilience, redundancy validation, and operational efficiency without disrupting live traffic.
