Vice President Wireline Networks & Infrastructure, Orange Innovation

Gilles Bourdon is currently Vice President Wireline Networks & Infrastructure in Orange Innovation. This involves definition of the Orange Group strategy, equipment sourcing, technological choices and network design related to wireline topics, such as passive infrastructure, HomeLan, fixed access networks, and also WDM and IP backbones.

Mr. Bourdon started in Orange in 1999 in R&D labs, then held different positions at networks and IT operations for Orange in France. These different positions gave Mr. Bourdon a strong background in design, build and operations of optical, xDSL and FTTx networks, with a permanent focus on customer experience, process efficiency, field operations and crisis management.

Until 2020, Mr. Bourdon was Head of Orange IT Service Management Center, ensuring that Orange provides a best in class quality of service.

During his career in Orange, Mr. Bourdon was an active contributor in IETF and DSL Forum, and authored several patents (multicast authorization, authentication in vehicular adhoc networks), publications (Authentication, Authorization, Accounting) and one book (Service Automation and Dynamic Provisioning Techniques in IP/MPLS environments).

Gilles Bourdon holds an MSc in Computer Science from University Paris 6 and an engineering degree in Telecommunication Networks from Telecom SudParis.
