IBM PoC Report of IOWN Data Hub: Frontend-to-Data Service HTTP PUT Communication Acceleration with Open APN and Server Communication Acceleration with Open APN

IOWN Data Hub PoC Reference V1.0: Senario1 (Frontend-to-Data Service PUT Communication Acceleration with Open APN) was conducted to test PUT capabilities on high-performance IBM Power. We tested the capability of PUT using Kafka (IBM Event Streams) and Open APN on a high-performance IBM Power Server. Network variations were 1GE, Open APN (100GE), and Non-APN (100GE on LAN). This POC assumes inter-application communication between (1) edge and central clouds, (2) between edge clouds, and (3) between central clouds, and uses APNs and middleware to implement high-level communication protocols between applications. We considered ways to optimize software, network, and hardware configurations to maintain high availability, high scalability, and high flexibility. In particular, for inter-application integration, we will focus on Kafka (IBM Event Streams) and Open APN to optimize functionality.
